Re: [Avid-L2] Difference between Playback Tab and Motion Adapter set to 100% with Mixed Frame Rates?

You are correct that if there was sync audio it would go out of sync or get it's time slewed.  The goal is to avoid the inherent motion artifacts that come with motion adapters.  Taking 29.97 source material and cutting it into the 23.976 timeline often results in less than ideal motion.  I know a teranex etc... does better conversion but that's not in the budget at this point.  The reason for this approach is to facilitate a shot by shot assessment and adjustment.  Using source settings playback tab is a global adjustment.  I'm dealing with all sorts of frame rate clips and many are clips of an edited show where some shots work and others don't, hence the need for clip by clip assessment.  I'm finding that it is visually better to playback some 29.97 clips frame for frame thereby removing the 125% auto motion adapter added and yes now they playback slowed down but if it's broll it will still work in the context of the show I'm working on.  Much of the original broll was shot at 120fps so slowing down the archival broll when needed to avoid stutters or juddering isn't a deal breaker.

My basic question was to confirm that if I set the auto motion adapter to 100% the clip will playback frame for frame.  That is my assumption but wanted to confirm.  To show my age, "I have more frame rates than Carter has pills!!!"
