[Avid-L2] Transcoded Master Clips still link to original audio on source drive with no audio on destination drive?

MC 2018.12.15 Mac OS 10.14.6.  I've seen this for a long time but I thought it related to background transcodes.  I have a bunch of XDCam50 original clips that have been consolidated in my Avid project.  When I then transcode to DNxHR LB for offline the video is transcoded but the audio is not copied to the target drive.  I thought it was because I did the transcode with background processing but even using the application the same thing happens.  I can't recall if this has come up in past threads.  I googled and search the L2 but got stuff about transcoding sequences.

I found a solution if I check convert audio sample rate.  I'm not converting the sample rate but leaving it at 48K.  At any rate then the audio ends up on the destination drive.  The XDCam is from 2011 HD 29.97 interlaced.  Given I've seen this issue before I'm wondering if there is a systemic bug or if it just depends on the particular source material.  It's particularly annoying because everything looks fine with nothing offline until I unmount the source volume.  I can manually reveal the audio and copy it to the destination drive and that works too but for a bunch of clips not fun.

Anybody remember Transcoding requiring Convert Audio checked to get the audio to the target destination drive?  Not sure if the same happens when consolidating.
