understood from Steve at Lightspace that the Sony is pretty impossible to calibrate without an external Lutbox.
This favours the Flanders.
of the two Flanders models, the 3000 nit model is actually $10k cheaper BUT uses a far less accurate for of hilight zoning, leading to bleeding of highlights to adjacent pixels.
Doesn’t sound disastrous but when grading a starry sky or Cityscape at night it will certainly be less accurate.
The 311, 1000 nit model, deals with this by allowing for individual pixels to be turned on or Off, this obscuring the backlight.
I should caveat all this by saying I have not actually seen any of the monitors personally and all I have said is based on a combination of hearsay and forums like lift gamma gain.
Would be happy to hear what you decide on and why.
