Re: [Avid-L2] Please Help confirm: Avid MediaFiles folder on Windows 10 Internal Drive

Thanks Agustín!!
This really helps the confusion.
I'm not sure this was widely communicated.
When I have time, I'm going to make an info graphic about this.
It's confusing for us old timers!

The latest version of Media Composer will store media in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\Avid MediaFiles by default UNLESS an Avid MediaFiles folder already exists at C: Root
So ig you are in a brand new system with no previous Avid MediaFiles Folder media that you create at C: Drive will go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\Avid MediaFiles if not you can still keep using the Avid MediaFiles folder at root as you used to for the las 25+ years.
IIRC this is true since version 2020.

On my test system (Win 10) it is indeed at the root level of the C drive. simplest thing is to launch MC and create a title (old style) and try to save to C.

Please Help confirm:
Location of Avid MediaFiles folder on Windows 10 Internal Drive

Hi gang!

Mac user here, and I'm getting conflicting information about the proper
location on the INTERNAL HD of a Windows 10 system for the Avid MediaFiles folder.

I would have thought it was at the root level of the c\ drive, but I'm also getting
word that it is supposed to go in this path:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\Avid MediaFiles

So, any experts out there able to chime in with the definitive answer?

I appreciate the help!
We're just about to create a Deep Freeze image that will be deployed to about 50 systems . . .
so I'd hate to screw it up! ;)

Thanks again!
