The latest version of Media Composer will store media in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\Avid MediaFiles by default UNLESS an Avid MediaFiles folder already exists at C: Root
So ig you are in a brand new system with no previous Avid MediaFiles Folder media that you create at C: Drive will go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\Avid MediaFiles if not you can still keep using the Avid MediaFiles folder at root as you used to for the las 25+ years.
IIRC this is true since version 2020.
