Those date tricks as I understand it are about fooling the certificates that expire so if you downloaded the OS when it first came out often times those don't work a year later but in this case the installer runs without a hitch until the end when it says no packages can be installed. This is after the whole hour long process and it leaves the volume stranded and not knowing what it use to be until I reinstall Yosemite, which seems to just be repairing some part of the drive that got whacked in the process. I thought it said at the beginning it would determine if the upgrade was compatible with the computer before starting the process. I'm going to ask on MacProUpgrade Facebook group.
