I *think* it was/is
Premultiplied = Shaped linear key (GVG) Clean key (Sony)
Straight = Unshaped linear key (GVG) Linear key (Sony)
I seem to recall that the Sony clean key basically did ‘add’ or ‘screen’ type transfer function with fill over background then used the key to mask that composite over the background.
Wheras the Sony linear key cut black into the background (with the feathered edge) and put the fill over the top (that was already feathered if premultiplied) - so you could get black edges.
Although the more I write the less I’m sure of my knowledge on this.
Not sure about new feature in the Avid keyer switch.
You still have to do the HDTitle console command to avoid soft imported graphics though.
