Re: [Avid-L2] OT: Walt Disney Television moving to The Woodlands Texas

The Woodlands is a planned community north of Houston.  It was conceived and built by billionaire oil and fracking guy George Mitchell of Mitchell Energy.

When I was in high school there were rumors that Spielberg was going to build a studio in the area.  Variations of that story would come up every four or five years.  Nothing ever materialized.  And I doubt it will.  The more realistic scenario would be relocating to the Las Colinas area outside of Dallas where there is an already established media industry area.

Just saw a post on FB from the ÅBCeniors group with a memo that Walt Disney TV will be closing up shop in New York and The Prospect Lot in Hollywood and moving to
Texas somewhere known as the Woodlands. I started on the Prospect Lot.  Funny how things change.  The memo said they would be consolidating from 8 locations to 2 Texas and Bristol for ESPN.  ABC say it ain't so.  ;-(
