Yep, duly noted at Avid. I had the same problem and over a couple of sessions with an Avid tech (very knowledgeable, thorough fellow known as David C). 

He and his supervisors confirmed it as a bug that would be addressed in an update later this month... 

My workaround is simply clicking on my workspace icon in the workspace bar. It refreshes the dark screens on Source and Record monitors. 

The tech said the bug is with the AMD Radeon graphics card in my 2018 MBP 15", running 2019.11

The Source monitor in the Composer window goes black whenever you go into/out of Trim Mode. It may also do this on other actions, but I have not identified them all.

One work around is to actually physically drag the entire Composer window from one monitor to another monitor, and then put it back in place. But obviously, that sucks.

I am hoping this bug has been noted and will be fixed in the next update.
