In the past I've been able to run Adobe Media Encoder in the background while running Avid. Now that I've switched to a GTX-680 using cuda I find AME crashes when I try to encode files while Avid is running. As far as I know I have assigned too much memory to Avid and my work computer has 32GB of ram. I also get similar crashes as in an encode fails at the start with Avid or Resolve running on my home computer. These are all MacPros OS 10.12.6 MC 2018.12.7 and Resolve 15.4.
At work I use to have a Radeon 5770 GPU and I didn't have the problem. I find if I switch the Adobe Media Encoder processing from cuda to software only it doesn't fail. I'm thinking there is some cuda conflict. I only recently moved from CS6 to Adobe CC 2018 on my home system so that part is new to that system.
Anybody got suggestions as to where to look for the seeming resources conflict. I've looked at the memory settings as to how much ram is reserved for Adobe but it's only 12 GB and at home I have 64GB ram.
