Re: [Avid-L2] Re: I Did Not Ask For 'Nova Cut'!

Just saw this on Avid Editors on Face Book.  Could this be what you are seeing:

I've had similar things happen in the past.  IIRC after I installed a font then things go wonky.  It felt like the way old days of Chyrons when the fonts had to be loaded in a specific order or things would get jumbled up.  I don't remember what I did to get rid of the issue.  I might have restored from a carbon clone backup.

I'd suspect legacy timeline views might play into it.  Create a new user and take a look at the default timeline font.  I might have done that in the past and then imported the newly created timeline view into my settings and adjusted it to my liking.

Perhaps there is a more elegant way to create a new default timeline view.  Worth trying.

So, for some reason, upon launching MC 2019.9 this morning, the font in my timeline clips (and in the Source and Record Monitor clip ID's up top) have all changed to what I can only identify as 'Nova Cut.'

What the hell is Nova Cut and why did MC suddenly decide that's what it wanted to use in the timeline?

I've gone through every possible setting and found zero evidence of this font being specified for this purpose.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Is there a "secret" font setting somewhere that I don't know about?

Many thanks,

DD
