Re: [Avid-L2] All Yahoo Groups content to be deleted...

BTW, Ron stresses that they do not need to shoe-horn L2 into any particular mode of operation.  He said they can host it as private, closed or whatever L2 membership wants.  He respects the history of the group.

I'm no-longer in the industry but have been lurking over time as an L2 member for probably more than two decades (don't even remember).  Looking at it from the outside now, this sounds like a good option to me.

I spoke to Ronald Lindeboom (Creative Cow founder).  He said they would be happy to bring Avid-L2 into Creative Cow.  They just went through a massive technology upgrade of the site and have enhanced capabilities.  He say L2 can run almost any way L2 members want it to because of these enhancements.

The person to contact is Tim Wilson, tim@creativecow.net, who, incidentally, was Avid's Senior Product Marketing Director for years.

I think Yahoo has a way to extract historical data and files before the big reset button is pressed.  It sounds like Creative Cow should be able to absorbe this data and provide a new home for the list.
