I have seen this or something similar. Eventually it will clear but I found a process running that took most of my RAM. I can't recall exactly but if you open Activity Monitor before you install, keep an eye out for a process called Icon ... (something or other). If you look at memory usage you'll see it. Force it to quit and you should be OK.

Sounds like a prudent course action. Many thanks.

Not necessarily suggestion you go through with the actual install via the new account just yet.On Sun, Aug 4, 2019 at 11:56 AM Davaldod davaldod@gmail.com [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:All of my attempts to update MC from 2019.6 to 2019.7 are ending in miserable failure.I'm on Mac 10.14.5. I downloaded the .dmg from the Download Center on the Avid web site. I launch the .dmg. But after the installation pane opens, the Finder immediately locks up, and that's it.The only way to get access back to my computer is to force a shut down, and restart. I've tried this multiple times. No go.Has anyone successfully installed MC 2019.7 on a Mac 10.14.5 system? Thanks,D
