[Avid-L2] surplus surround monitoring

Hey Gang

I've been pretty discreet about this here-to-fore, hinting about this, but telling only a few soles outright, but we're selling our building and 'going virtual.' SHQ will still exist as a production and post production company, but no longer as a free-standing traditional 'post house.' That is to say, I'll have a full finishing bay and an assistant's workstation in my home office, and projects requiring multi-person teams will be 'aggregated' through freelance editors and similar. I had 15+ terrific years as a boot-strapped post-production company. But halfway through my 20th year (do the math) it's time to let the 'big iron' go.

I've already sold off just a few items, but the 'flood' will begin in the next week or so. If there's some chunk of outdated gear you're really hankering for, hit me up, I may have just what you need. There's also terminal gear, and facility and office stuff that's not typical of an edit bay sell-off.

One of my favorite things I can't take home is the surround-sound monitoring setup from our mixing room. It's friggin' awesome, but just too big for my home system. I put it up on ebay a week or so ago with an underwhelming description, and didn't get any takers! Similar systems have consistently sold for fair prices in the recent past, so I'm pretty sure I just need to improve my description and put up a few nicer photos.

BUT, if you're looking for a surround sound speaker setup for proper mixing - this is the shit! JBL 2346p powered speakers x5 and a system subwoofer. Originally I paid somewhere around $3600, if I recall correctly, I'd settle for $600 from a friend. It's really not a system for an editor as it doesn't include a monitor controller - I'm selling that separately (but also available) - so someone who's a pro mixer and wants a home system might be a better bet. Regardless, tell your mixer friends if you think they might be interested.

I'll probably get it back on eBay tomorrow or the next day, hit me up before then if you're interested.

I'll email when I start batch-posting gear, hope that's not too annoying.
