Probably not, as it is a 32 or 64 byte thingy, where the values can be from 0 up to and including 255
Some of those values can be translated as digits or chars, but some cannot.

What 'could' be meaningful is just an indication if it's present or not. 
It would make no sense to sift on it to see if you find duplicates, as that 'should' never happen.

(And then I'm not sure if Avid reads XMP, since that is Adobe. (But open, so it 'could' be.))
