[Avid-L2] Re: QT Ref Death

So this has been on my mind as I'm about to uninstall my old CS6 from my home system and pony up for a subscription Adobe Suite primarily for AME use.  I've been using AME 2015.X at work with QT Ref files with reasonable success.  There are some quirks to Full Range vs. Legal with Avid DNx media but ProRes is solid on levels.

I knew there was a point where Adobe stopped supporting some codecs but I can't recall which codecs or what version.  So from your post QT Ref broke in Adobe Media Encoder 2019 does that mean it still worked in 2018?

As I venture into the present Adobe subscription world at home I have read I can run older versions as needed.  I assume once I sign up I can choose a previous version of AME that suits my needs.  I'm going to google but this thread seems to encompass my main concern about QT Ref.

Can anyone confirm QT Ref still works in AME 2018?

I do have VideoToolshed mp4 to .mov formerly Go Pro to QTmac and I use that to take AME h_264 files to .mov.  My limited understanding is that is a a more thorough conversion than just changing the extension.  That's been working for me at work.  Given I always have an upper track safe color render the QT Ref is more applicable in my workflows.
