[Avid-L2] What the hell is going on at Sony Repair?

After trying every 'old' number in my book, along with previously reliable emails, plus a odd few contacts from friends, I finally thought to google 'Sony professional repair,' got a local number, who's receptionist then gave me a different local number, then I was finally speaking to someone who definitely sounded 'offshore..' I hope I'm not too judgy, being a leftie, but sometimes an accent leads me to be very annoyed, especially when I call a local number, yet am clearly reaching a call center (plenty of voices in the background) and have to repeat myself and/or speak extra loud so they can hear me.

Anyway, according to the person who I spoke with, they've just discontinued service ('a memo just last week') for my not-very-old PVM2541, which seems to have developed a power supply problem. Anyone know where I can get this fixed in the Los Angeles area?

Ahrg.
