Re: [Avid-L2] Odd behaviour - Squeeze 11

Why do you care about file size and if it will play or not?

If you use a Youtube preset, you are uploading to Youtube or Vimeo, only thing that counts is if you de-interlaced if needed.
(Or if you have a limit in upload amount of MB's)

Just upload the result to YouTube, it will re-compress it anyway.
Check the result there, I bet it will be fine.

Hi all,

I'm in versioning hell at the moment and as part of that I'm making a bunch of MP4s with Squeeze11 using the YouTube1080 preset. All of the source files are 50sec ref movies out of DS.

Now the 'normal' size for a 50 sec file using this preset is about 30mb. When I'm batch creating them though, Squeeze makes about 40% of them around 48-50mb. When I try to play these 'big' files the playback stutters at about 34secs in, as if the data rate has suddenly shot up. There's no consistency to this, if I re-process all of the 'big' ones then most of them come out at 30mb. Then I re-process the remaining ones etc.

I tried changing the "Compression System Load" slider to no effect. Does anyone have any other suggestions that don't involve using another file converter?

Cheers,
Tony
