Re: [Avid-L2] Holy Sh*t

OMH,

how is it so popular?

Because for many of us it works pretty well.  I have been using PP almost exclusively for the last 3 years or so, after 20 years on Avid and some overlapping years with FCP6/7.

I run PP on a 8 core MP trash can and have had very little crashing; in fact, no more than I had with Avid..  I gave up on Avid for numerous reasons (I still have it for the occasional legacy project).

I have been somewhat of an Avid diehard over the years, but no more.  When the everyday editing experience got to be much smoother on PP, I stopped using Avid for new projects.  Both have nice features, and of course both make me want to scream at times :-).

One of the best things about Premiere is that Adobe is trying hard to listen to users and improve the product.  And PP has come a long way in the last 5 years.

Its the weird audio embeds

Huh? What do you mean by this?

Premiere pro sucks. I mean, you all know this, but… how is it so popular? It's not learning the keystrokes, or the logic - that's not too bad. Its the weird audio embeds, and the regular crashing. Oh, the crashing.
