Personally, we switched to Photoshop and/or After Effects some time ago.
However, I did see a brief demo of the 'new' title tool at Editor's Lounge a couple weeks ago. So far fairly simple, but it works, it's vector based, and wysiwyg just like anything in the effects palette. It can be applied as an effect on a clip, or as an effect on a separate layer (making textless versions practical, etc.)
