Re: [Avid-L2] Does Timeline Quality Setting Effect Renders, Precomputes, Tape Outputs, File Exports?

I also found this to be true on Mac, Avid v8.x  just as Bouke has described.  Timeline had to be in 10-bit green mode to generate 10-bit mixdowns.

It does not help if you switch mailing lists so people can't read what is said before.

To recap: In some situations (read, when you're on Mac on 'some' version) a mix down to a DNxHD 10 bits will result in 8 bits info inside a 10 bits codec when not in green 10 bits modus.
Feed that to your Avid tech.

Actually, I know the timeline view settings do not affect renders.

Set your timeline to the lowest quality. Now look at an unrendered effect and you will see it is aliased. Render it. Now it won't be aliased.
