I'm aware that in later releases Avid has reduced (but not totally eliminated, AFIK) dependencies on QT. Possibly an update alone will solve the issue?

So I have a problem at the university where I am teaching. The IT department has upgraded us to Windows 10 and has refused to install quicktimeSince it is not supported any longer for security updates by apple.Using Media Composer We cannot link to media that used quicktime in the codec. Some material from our tricaster is not recognized at all and must be transcoded thru Adobe Media Encoder to mxf files. We can only export as mxf files.Any suggestions?
