You know, I have no idea why they chose to do it that way. The show was shot in St. Petersburg, Russia, and that's just how the local assistant editors decided to do it. Dailies were then sent to me via upload and courier with physical drive. Needless to say, I would have preferred an all MC workflow, but maybe there was a good reason for it. For me, my experience has been that this added Resolve step can often introduce errors of one kind or another.

Is that because the final online and color correct happens inside Resolve? If so, I think this is the second time in the last month that I've heard of people taking camera originals through Resolve into Avid and back out into Resolve for the color correction (and I guess mastering.)Is that becoming a common approach? (I'm wondering if I should start making time to learn at least the rudiments of Resolve; I don't generally do any heavy lifting color correction.)Thanks for any info,Dan
Right now I'm on a 21-episode single camera comedy, shot on Alexa, transcoded to DNxHD185X via Resolve, sync'd in Avid. Maybe there's something about this 25p 185X material that's not playing nice. Who knows? Because when I go back to 23.98 projects everything seems to be alright. The waveform redraw is still maddeningly slow, but at least I don't get the crashes I seem to get on the 185X show.DOn Feb 23, 2018, at 11:32 AM, Gail Upp <gupp@keycodemedia.com> wrote:I didn't have any crash problems with 2018.1 and 2018.2 seems fine so I'm only sort of a negative reassurance.

But so far this thing's been a crash monster. Very frustrating. Nothing like the previous versions in terms of stability. For me, at least. And I'm on the same system, same OS as before (OS 10.10.5)..

Is this a solid version? I though I was hearing some rumblings that 2018.2 update is having some issues. What is the general verdict from those who have tried it?ThanksLou
