Re: [Avid-L2] Since 1997

Does Filmcutter still exist?

I think August 1997 was my first day on a Avid 9000 or 8000 discovering realtime dissolves....I remember I shouted, "It's about f@@king time! This IS the future..." and never looked backed. Then I started to really hate digitizing.....lol

And thanks to the L I bought a used ABVB AMP AVR 75 baby! Wilson supplied me with a used ABVB to replace my dead one and Marianna helped replace my Avid AMP I lost in Katrina.

The Avid-L is truly the best user group I have ever been a part of.
Cheers to all the people who cut in dark rooms and make magic...or in my case little daily miracles.

First started lurking on the original Avid-L and Edit-L lists in March, 1997. Got my first Avid assistant job the next year, and thanks to tips from here like "subsys monpane debug" I quickly developed the (undeserved) reputation with the editors I supported as an Avid wizard. Thanks to everyone for the shared knowledge and experience.

So I just looked at my Calendar and saw that last Thursday, Oct 19, it was exactly 20 years ago that I first posted on the original Avid-L mailing list.
I've learned a lot here, and I'm so grateful to have 'met' all of you over the course of those 20 years.
