[Avid-L2] Re: BMD PCIe Gen 3 cable kit (DNxIQ) backwards compatibilty? YES (it appears)

 

I took a gamble, ordered the BMD PCIe Gen 3 card kit (BMD-BDLKULSR4KEXTSPK), plugged it into slot 1 of a Z820 and... it appears to drive the Nitris DX. 


Well so far my very initial results (just moments ago) are - I get audio (stereo) and video (HDMI) out of the Nitris DX.  Obviously a lot more testing left to do but all initial indications are looking quite good.


And, the HP Thunderbolt card (F3F43AT) in slot 5 of the same Z820 is driving a 24TB G-Tech RAID quite nicely at the same time.
