In fact, they were NOT able to get 8.8.2 to work with the Canon C300 media. In fact they were clear that it's a known bug and that they hope to push the fix in the next update — which they don't have a schedule for yet. So I ended up having to back-rev to 8.6.4 in order to do this particular job.
