Big winds in LA overnight and apparently we had a power outage overnight. Now in one rack 3 APC UPS units have zero output voltage. One is an older unit and two others are newer with the LCD displays. We've hit the little reset button in the back that says reset but it looks like it has a straight blade screw driver notch in the middle of the reset button. I tried to twist it with a tweaker but it didn't want to turn so I guess it's just a reset button and not a twist off fuse holder too.
At any rate all three units are in the same rack and I've confirmed there is AC power feeding them. The front panel says call APC tech support. I scrolled through the menus to factory reset but turning it to Yes or On does nothing. It's like I can scroll to the desired function choice but there is no enter button and when I hit esc button it defaults back to off.
Given all three units have power but no output voltage I suspect this particular rack took a stronger power hit/surge than the other racks with similar units. The other racks are working with their UPS systems.
My question is why is there a straight blade screw driver slot in the reset button. Is there a fuse to be accessed besides the reset button? Is there some magic keystroke combo to initiate the factory reset. It just feels like for 3 units all in the same rack of varying models to all exhibit zero output voltage there must be a common protection circuit/fuse that has been triggered. The more modern units menus says the local voltage is ok just zero output volts and to call Tech Support.
Anybody got any ideas.
