So… I just installed v8.8 (I was previously on 8.6).
I went to change the background color of my timeline, and I used the trick to hold down the opt/alt key to bring up the color picker. So . . . it appears that MC now has its own, built-in color picker (as opposed to using the one for your chosen OS. (see screen grab). OK… all very cool. But (there's always a "but") . . . I *still* cannot change the timeline background to pure black (like I could in v4 and prior, which I loved, and was easier on my eyes over the course of the workday. The closest it gets is about 20% grey.
