Re: [Avid-L2] Atmos Shogun

From memory, there are several different 422 cables. (remembering the time when you could slave Avid as a player? That needed a different one.)

Or, it's a setup issue where you have to assign the port. (Let alone baud rate, stop / parity eider.)

But WHY? It's a file based recorder that shoots ProRes and DNxHD, you can AMA link to the files and be done with it…

Has anyone here had success connecting and controlling an Atmos Shogun
to Media Composer? I briefly tried hooking one up via HDSDI and the
RS422 port on a Shogun Studio. I tried letting MC auto configure and a
variety of deck templates but MC acts as if nothing is there.

According to the Atmos Shogun manual, the port is RS422 an I should be
able to control basic deck functions through it. I verified my cables,
etc. by happily controlling a Sony HDW M2000. Many thanks for any
insight. --J.B.
