On my recent 4K projects the DPX export of the hourish shows usually takes about 9 hours ish with everything already rendered in a safe color limit effect. Today when I went to export DPX it said 18 hours. I was going to a raid tower over USB 3 like I always do. I stopped the export and switched to a single raw drive in a voyager dock also usb 3. That came up with the same 18 hours.
I then did a full power down and turned off all extra drives and went back to exporting to the Raid tower and now it's at 9 hours like normal. So I guess I can just chalk it up to memory leak or something but I had rebooted at the beginning of the day. The first thing I did was a 2 hour Red Raw transcode to DNxHRHQX in a different project. After that was done I restarted Avid before beginning the DPX export. I'm wondering if perhaps just the fact that I had been transcoding Red Raw before had somehow created a memory leak or something.
Curious if any of the more computer savvy types could speculate on whether this was a memory leak scenario or just typical computer voo doo? I haven't seen this behavior before and I'm using all the same hardware the only thing different was a Red Transcode before hand.
