Re: [Avid-L2] Sony Camera Codec XAVC can't ama link in Avid

you can always give this a shot

It recognises the metadata in the Mp4 (Sony writes an XML that stores TC)
and, fast, no video transcoding, and it will ama link then.

When I looked closer at the file folder name it said something about Sony SLR or dSLR.  So would that be one of those "Action Cams"?  One of the freelance sharp AE's pulled out a copy of FLV Crunch and suggested rewrapping to .mov.  I left while they were processing the first two files.  I would assume once it is turned to .mov it will ama link.

I'll I need is one more new format, standard or aspect ratio and I think I might just have to do something that will make editing great again.  ;-(

micro SD is the odd thing. Could be one of those sony 'action cams' (their version of gopro)?? Try Resolve - it will play dern near everything.

Also, I've noticed that XAVC is a serious processor hog for AMA or resolve - may not even play real time so conversion probably a must. The cameras mostly seem to have purpose-built encoders for whatever their weird format.
