I recall the term of "Blimp" or "Blimping" as referring to a sound proof enclosure that would eliminate or at least dampen the noise from a film camera. Dealing with a multicam shoot where the camera operations display of the Varicam 35 is very visible in the dark audience shots. Not sure why they didn't somehow black out the display and other little light sources but it sure makes for a lot of extra paint out work. Is there a particular term for shrouding all the light sources on a camera? Are there covers that are designed for this task? I'm pretty sure I've seen protective covers for weather etc so I'm wondering if there are black out kits that they could use. Would something like that create thermal problems for the camera. I haven't been in the field in decades but I can imagine there might be some pretty hefty cooling fans on 4K cameras. TIA
