If you don't delete the original media you run the risk of some whacky relinks happening. That said if you do delete the original media of the stock shots you may lose any reference to the offline shots for reference. Are the stock shots reused in the various sequences? That's the only reason I can see to reimport to the high res.
Quite often the import settings may be different for the final high res material. If the screen resolution is different that could create issues. I'd suggest over cutting on the track above. Then if the same shot is used in other sequences just take the one you already over cut and make a sub sequence with the original offline shot on say V1 and the over cut shot on V2. With that as a subsequence in the source monitor you can load up the other sequences in the record monitor and do a reverse matchframe to the V1 clip. That should pop you to other uses of the same clip. If the reverse match doesn't quite work because you've used a slightly difference section of the offline clip you can do a text timeline search using the offline clip name. That should find other instances of the clip and cmd G will find subsequent matches to the text. Worth a try. HTH

Now I can simply reimport each clip one by one. Select the clip, reimport the new master and it replaces the shot wherever used in any sequences.
But do I have to select one at a time? If I select say 20 clips to reimport, then connect one clip to the new master…will Avid find the others in the bin and reconnect? Or will it change the 20 I selected and make them all the one master clip I chose? I hope the makes sense.
Im trying to avoid having to manually connect each stock shot with its hi res master and import one at a time.
any ideas would be great.
thanks
