Hi all,

I have a low budget feature shot on a Red EpicX, 24 FPS project timebase. Framerates are: 24, 48 and 96 FPS (and I found a few at 100FPS)

Footage AMA linked and transcoded in Avid MC 7.05 on an old MacPro.

The puzzle is that the 96FPS footage should, according to my logic, play at 25% speed. It does not. It plays at 50% speed. (If I apply a 400% motion effect it should, according to my logic, play at normal speed - but it doesn't. It plays at double speed)

Checked metadata in RedCineX and it confirms the framerate as 96FPS. The duration of the original clip is identical to that of the Avid transcode, and also of a RedCineX transcode.

A motion effect is the stopgap solution, but isn't ideal for finishing

24FPS footage plays correctly. The few 48 FPS clips I have checked play correctly. Also - a clip filmed at 100 FPS plays back correctly...

All have the correct 24 FPS project timebase and I can't find anything obvious in metadata comparisons.

Has anyone had to deal with something similar before? Any wise words would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Ashley
