Export settings are part of User settings, and User settings can't be set to read-only, because MC will just give errors. Best option is once you have a good user setting with everything you like for export settings, make a copy somewhere (personal GDrive or Dropbox is a good spot). Then any time it goes awry, just dump the settings folder for your user and replace with the safe copy.

Helped a customer create some custom export settings – but they keep getting overwritten.

 

I can't seem to find a way to lock them or at least have a way to go back to the correct settings.
