I always find the advantage to a physical class is that it forces you to do the work with no distractions. You can also ask the instructor questions on the fly that may be unrelated to the subject at hand but help you.
The disadvantage is that you usually get stuck with some folks who don't even know what Timecode is and that leads to a lot of wasted time for folks who already have industry experience.
