[Avid-L2] Danger Warning Will Robinson, "Don't open Avid 6.5.4.7 sequence in 8.5.2 make a copy first"

Perhaps this is documented but I was unaware.  I was running my Mac OS 10.9.5 startup drive running Avid MC 8.5.2.  I needed to check out a sequence that I'm doing for a normal HD series we are doing.  I opened the sequence bin and opened the sequence.  Without realizing it this somehow altered the sequence so later when I was back on my 6.5.4.7 startup drive and opened the project that particular sequence decided it needed to have the color correction updated.  It completely corrupted the color correction turning a bunch of the color correction from symphony relational to a color correction effect.  Completely screwed the sequence with no warning.  Fortunately I had an attic copy but this sucks big time.  8.5.2 should have promoted to a new sequence not just opened the sequence and screwed it up.
