[Avid-L2] Can Boris Red 5 and Avid FX both be installed on the same system?

Our company is upgrading all of our edit systems to Boris Red 5.  We have 31 systems running MC8.4.5 on Win7, and they are currently using our old AvidFX v6.0.4 installs. Since we have many shows in various stages of post, and most of them rely heavily on AvidFX, will we be able to install Red 5 without screwing up those shows?

Second question... If we can't run them simultaneously, will the AvidFX effects translate to Boris Red, or will they all have to be rebuilt?  I feel like we should be doing a rolling upgrade, with each system upgraded as the editor moves on to a new episode, but the powers that be here would like to do all of the upgrades at once.

Thanks for your advice.  Snarky comments welcome as well.
