Are there settings in this deck to specify metadata recording? If so, it'd be like the SRW-5500, where you have to tell it which lines to record. Mine's also super frustrating in that whatever battery is supposed to hold that in memory stopped working, so every time I set it, when it powers down for the night, it resets and loses the info.
For HDCAM, this is what you need to have set in the machine. I don't know how on that deck, but here's the info for the SRW:
SHIFT/Diag to get into the maintenance menus. F8 Maint Exec/SHIFT.
F9 others check
ALT F1. (Meta Data)
F3 for HDCam
You should be in the NVRAM CTL menu.
ANC1 should be Line 009
DID should be 061
SDID should be 01
Press F1 (NVRAM CTL) key and "Save All Data".
EXIT and power down completely, then power up.

Here's a question for all of you (still) living the dream of tape-based delivery.
Client has an HDCam SR and two HDCam decks. One of the decks, an HDW-D2000, does not record captions while the other two do. I RTfineM but nothing seemed to jump out at me that would effect captions. The manual does not seem to mention captions at all.
Any ideas?
