That is happening. I'm stuck on 8.4. I noticed it when I went to import
some Canon footage and I had to load in a new AMA plug in. It just
annoys me that 1) I screwed up with the renewal - I thought it would
renew automatically since they had my credit card on file - and 2) The
product just isn't worth what they're charging for it anymore when
compared to the competition. Realistically, with the exception of media
management (And Marianna), they've been left behind by Adobe. I REALLY
REALLY hate to see that. I hate it when young people look at me like I'm
a prehistoric beast when I say I prefer editing on Avid.
For the record - Marianna was all over this in less than an hour.
Unfortunately I was with a client and could not take her call.
(Ironically, editing at their studio on Premiere) I'm just a little one
seat shop. I'm certainly not a broadcaster or large volume client. My
only claim to fame is that I've managed to hold on since the original
AvidL. And again - I fully admit this was absolutely my fault.
Marianna stepped in again to save Avid's bacon - but it's sad that she
has to do this literally over, and over, and over again. Whatever they
are paying her, it is not enough.
