[Avid-L2] Apple is Fing me hard now along with Avid's inability to install on earlier Mac Os systems?

I've been working on a 4K project at work in 8.5.2.  I needed to bring it home to continue a render but I have 8.4.5 and for some reason it doesn't interpret the Panasonic Vlog LUT the same way it does on my work system.  I installed this lut from the same .zip file I used at work so it's got to be the same.  Very strange shifts in black balance levels and also it's not interpreting the frame flex 180 degree rotation I used on an upside down camera at all.  I guess there are major differences at play between 8.4.5 and 8.5.2.  Oh well no problem because I brought the 8.5.2 installer home.  Oh but wait I'm on OS 10.8.5 at home.  Yeah but Avid has been letting me install on unqualified OS's at my own risk for many years so I can at least try on OS 10.8.5.  But NOOOOOOOOO now avid won't let me do that says I need 10.9.  Oh well no problem I downloaded that a long time ago and even made a bootable usb flash drive but when I go to use it is says it's a corrupt install and I have to go to the apps store and re download it.  OH well okay even though these and other flash drives with OS's on them have worked for me before.  I assume Apple has changed something.  Well now the apps store tells me it's going to take 10 to 15 hours to download the Fing installer.  WTF?  I have slow DSL but not that slow.  I remember when I set up my wife's iMac a few years back for curiosity's sake I tried to reinstall the OS over the internet and it took several hours to do that.

This is so completely F'd and I'm under a time crunch.  What the F did Apple do to make my usb flash drive installer not work?  It was done with a utility that one of the engineers at work uses all the time and I don't get what is wrong with it.  Seems Apple changed something.  I even tried to install 10.10 from another usb drive that was made with the same program but it won't even attempt an install and it tells me I need to contact Apple Care.  These are all SSD PCIE drives in my MacPro Tower that were made with carbon copy cloner purchased version from the other spinning drives on my system.  I know in the past there have been issues because CCC didn't make a restore directory when cloning or some such nonsense.  Man I thought I was doing right by downloading but not installing updated OS's and making boot stick but now I'm truly F'd by the man. I even have the original installer files on my desktop so I don't really need the usb drives at all but launching it from the desktop and I get the same crap.  I even tried copying and pasting the OS Installer from the desktop into the Applications folder but that's still a no go for some reason.

Is this Lut and frame flex incompatibility a known issue between 8.5.2 and 8.4.5 or am I once again enjoying something unique to the Fing True 4K 4096x2160 project?  I'm going to have to start drinking again if this keeps up.
