No 5K monitor -- but one of the attractions of Premiere for this project is it seems possible to stretch a playback window wider than a single monitor, so I should be able to split the 5K width across 2 or 3 computer monitors. Avid seems limited to the width of a single monitor for its playback windows.I think cutting at full res with that much media is going to hurt regardless of edit system. You have a 5k monitor?
Even with premiere it makes sense to me to use an offline/online workflow, which is why I'm hoping someone has a reasonable workflow for it. When you go from Premiere to Resolve, for instance, is that using XML or is that where you've run into issues with EDLs? When you finish in Flame, are you getting offline effects work from Premiere, or do you have to rebuild your effects?I personally would rethink my workflow. I generally offline at 720p mainly because I can take the project home onto a laptop on a thunderbolt drive. I've done this for years and they can start to shoot 25k tomorrow and nothing will change in my workflow.
