Re: [Avid-L2] symphony question

I'm pretty sure you lose the secondary color correction completely when going to non symphony option system.  That's how the traditional symphony to media composer behaved.  All the other symphony specific color correction parameters will still effect the image when brought back to non symphony media composer you just can't adjust those parameters.  Back around Vers. 3 ish I did some tests and it seemed like not all the symphony specific color corrections were coming accross to my home media composer but since then I have seen it behave as I describe at the beginning of this post.  I haven't done specific tests related to this since the symphony and media composer became a merged product so perhaps there has been changes in the behavior I haven't noticed.

It does not lock you to the symphony. If you open the project on a MC machine, you will lose the ability to adjust secondary color corrections, but that's about it.

HI, i have a question for anyone running Symphony. When you have a project you work on with a MC system with the Symphony option, what happens if you take that project to a non-Symphony machine? Does it lock you into the Symphony machine? We are thinking about adding that option to one of our workstations but not all of them.

Thanks,
Scott
