Looks like a good upgrade. Menu changes useful and logical but what happened to the Hardware Tool? Always useful to check on storage.
Also, being brave (silly) I upped from 8.4.5 to 8.5 in a two hour slot between teaching classes involving Avid Pan & Zoom. Hit a barrier I have seen mentioned, that of the inability of P&Z to load graphics buried deep in sub-folders. In 8.4.5 I could load files in (an example); <Drive>/Folder1/Folder2/Folder3/Folder4. With 8.5, this failed and I had to move a folder up a couple of levels.
Plenty of other good features to explore but please:
1) Make the alpha channel default the same in Import and Link
2) Change the wording in Pan & Zoom from 'Import Fie' to 'Link to file'. It has always been a link, long before AMA, and when you teach, these distinctions are important.
