[Avid-L2] Re: HP DreamColor vs. Dell Premier Color monitors

Don't know if I missed this at NAB or if it came out later. Anybody had a good look at one of these babies?

Found this:

* The BVM-X300 does not cover the BT.2020 colour space in full.
Multi-format capability

The BVM-X300 can display various formats, such as 4K, 2K, UHD and HD at various frame rates.

I believe Sony has or is about to have an OLED 4K monitor. Over holiday break I saw it listed but not available at B&H. I haven't done any research but I bet someone here has. I'm a fan of the Sony OLED and bring my PVM-2541 to various freelance jobs so I can move quickly and not have to rework my brain for the usual POS so called "grading" monitors I find in various bays.

Just wondering if the Dell was an equivalent to the HP in performance and features or if the HP was a clear standout for the extra money. Also, Dell has a 32" 4k version out already, while the HP hasn't been release yet. So trying to figure out if we should wait. We are currently using a HP 24" DreamColor and a old 32" Sony CRT for grading, with a Panasonic TH-58PF11UK for client viewing. Thinking about switching over to using just the Dell 32" Premier Color for grading and getting on of the new LG OLED screens for client viewing.

Thoughts or alternant recommendations?
