Give rich a call at whipping post I too was skeptical but all I know is I grade 4k red and Alexa all the time with perfect playback with STACKS of nodes.
It just works I had two 780s in there and didn't get 4K so swapped the cards from another machine and problem solved.

It's got two titans in it and I get solid performance - it's been hammered but keeps on ticking.
Only thing I did was swap the fans for silent ones - the ones it came with sounded like a plane taking off.
