In my haste to make air I read the delivery of "ProRes" to mean ProResHQ. I have never really scrutinized ProResHQ vs. ProRes 422. I now know that they are both 422 but HQ is like 220X and ProRes 422 is like DNX145. We shoot a show on Alexa and edit in 175X. Why would the network want me to down grade the image to ProRes 422 instead of HQ. They have agreed to accept the file but is space more important than quality? Perhaps for on air it's a negligible difference but really for a few GB of space this big 3 network sacrifices quality. Just seems wrong. I'm not one to get hung up in absolute purity of images as I realize I only provide the filler between commercials but come on now. Can't we carry my extra artistic bits of resolution to the home viewer? It's the holidays and I think of the extra data as my gift to the viewer.
