[Avid-L2] Questions: DPX for DUMMIES?

 

Hey gang...

I'm looking over some new features in MC v8.4.x.

As I only have a passing knowledge of DPX workflows,

I'm hoping someone can explain a few things for me.

Avid's Help, while now working and looking great in Chrome,

doesn't provide any context.

Here's the 'Link' dialog that relates to DPX:

Question 1:

What is the purpose of starting the Frame Count at either 0 or 1?

Question 2:

Is there a specific syntax necessary to have the *Frame Count* extracted from the file name?

Question 3:

Is there a specific syntax necessary to have the *Timecode* extracted from the file name?

Thanks for any insight. If you're willing to help (TIA!), 

the answers don't have to be too in-depth.

I just need to get the gist of it, and Google has not been my friend to this point.
