If you right-click on the record monitor, there is an item called Display
Color Space. Here you can choose REC 709 (full range) which will more
accurately represent what your computer display can make of full range
video, and should match same-as-source RGB level outputs. This will not
change how MC interprets levels internally, it is only a display adjustment.
