Post Production Systems Administrator – Santa Monica

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

We are a creative post-production facility located in Santa Monica.  We primarily work in the short form medium of commercials.  Candidate would be working with a creative group of about 50 individuals and manage day to day systems for one location, but would also be a member of a team that manages multiple locations.  The ideal person will have a solid firewall, exchange, and networking background.

 We are seeking an individual who will show a sense of urgency and an ability to work within a fast paced environment.  The Systems Administrator will have the technical knowledge and experience to be 'hands-on' and 'think out of the box' when problem solving.  It is key that this person be proactive, responsive, and get things done quickly.

Overview of environment:  mac, pc, linux, offline, visual efx, and online. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

•     Design, Maintain, troubleshoot, and update of all network systems, which can include; VMWare ESXi and Hyper –V Servers, Switches, Firewalls, Wireless, LTO Tape Library.

•     Administer servers and network services: AD, DNS, DHCP, SMB, NFS.

•     Ensure all Mac, Windows, and Linux workstations and servers are up to date with OS, patches, and software.

•     Maintain and support our Windows, OSX, and Linux servers, which can include AD, MySQL, Apache, DNS, DHCP.

•     Maintain and support email system, which includes Exchange 2013 and Linux based spam filters.

•     Maintain and support the Accounting Dept., which includes Windows Server, SQL Server 2012, Great Plains, and Windows 7.

•     Testing of new technologies for possible future integration.

•     Documentation of infrastructure and processes to wiki: which will include software per system, license information, related systems, purpose, locations, access, and workflow diagrams.

QUALIFICATIONS

•     Solid working knowledge of Mac OS, Linux, Windows, Python, and MySQL.

•     Knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMB.

•     VMWare and Hyper-V virtualization.

•     Ability to configure firewalls, switches, routing, and VLANS.

•     Proficient with OSX, Linux, and Window platforms

•     Scripting in python is preferred.

•     Basic abilities with writing SQL queries, HTML, CSS, and PHP.

•     Working knowledge of Exchange.

•     Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical people face to face or via email.

•     Ability to quickly learn and implement new technology.
